Rolling Bearings

No other mass-produced product has a comparable level of mechanical precision with such high production volumes. It is made with a defect rate of almost zero by a good number of manufacturers.

Hardly any of the everyday industrial devices we use could be operated without rolling bearings: we would not be able to drive cars, the washing machine would not work and none of our household and kitchen appliances would work.

And then there are the special fields of application of rolling bearings: firstly in high-frequency spindles which rotate at a speed of tens of thousands of revolutions per minute, but also in rolling mill frames for steel plants, or in paper production, where they carry roll mills weighing 80 tonnes, reaching manufacturing speeds of 1400m of paper per minute at a track width of 10m.

But all of this only works because rolling bearings have a unique advantage: they replace sliding friction with rolling friction, which is at least 10 times less!

Of course, this also means that a lot less energy is dissipated with a rolling bearing compared to a plain bearing.

In order to save even more energy, ball bearings were developed. Their raceway geometry and finish quality is so precise that in addition to the rolling friction effect, a further reduction in energy needs of about 25% can easily be achieved.

Just imagine what would happen if all the electric motors in the world were equipped with these amazing ball bearings! The amount of energy saved would be equivalent to the amount of energy that a small city uses in a year.
